HOW SCIFIN WORKS
A New Media Paradigm
In October 2005 a seismic shift occurred in an important business sector, media. That event was set off when Apple Computer announced that they would be downloading network television shows and with it, the media industry, Americas’ second largest export, moved from Hollywood to Silicon Valley. That change was already evident on Main Street dangling from the ears of teenagers. Almost overnight, the I-Pod had changed the music business, now the television distribution system was moving from a network of owner operated local stations and cable providers to servers farms around the country mostly run by IT companies in California. It also heralded the introduction of the Micro-Network. For business to business marketing and commerce this represents a unique opportunity to streamline business communications, promoting growth and greater profitability.
What is a Micro-Network.
It is a group of people with common business interests. For example, interior designers, architects, builders, commercial developers, construction materials manufacturers represent one type of Micro-Network. Scifin.net™ is the archetype of what a Micro-Network is and how it runs. Scifin.net™ can be characterized as a “YouTube” for Technology Transfer, connecting inventors to investors, in other words, University Researchers, Entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, Corporations Associations and Foundations
How does it work
The network has three operating components:

Using SciFin.Net™
This system is a marketing utility like a cell-phone, we do not expect to receive points or percentages for connecting inventors to investors or vice-a-versa. It is a sponsored subscriber network that has two business components, the first allows IP holders to “push” their Technologies out into the marketplace, in an easy to understand and practical manner. The second is a “pull” mechanism allowing those companies and investors looking for technology to have it confidentially sent to them, the program is called “Just Gives Us A Minute” and it operates independently of the main site. By clicking the “First Look” item, a company can log into their own exclusive, secure area to watch videos of technologies, uploaded by IP holders, along with a short text description with links to papers, data and email contact.
Micro Networks offer the prospect of new business alliances with scientists, entrepreneurs and inventors that can help grow your company. This type of connectivity was not possible a few years ago, but with the development of broadband and mobile delivery your business network just got a whole lot larger and a lot more streamlined.
